How to use Naam Jap Counter

This guide covers setup, daily counting, goal/streak behavior, offline usage, and sync recovery.

1) Getting started

  1. Open the app and tap the counter circle to begin counting.
  2. Optional: sign in from Settings > Cloud Sync for multi-device continuity.
  3. Optional: install to home screen for faster launch and full-screen usage.

2) Daily counting flow

  1. Use tap (or keyboard on desktop) to increment the current mala count.
  2. When a mala completes, progress continues with visual and sound feedback.
  3. Use Change Mantra to switch presets or custom mantras.
  4. Use Sankalp and Your Name from settings to personalize practice.

3) Goals, history, and streaks

  1. Set your daily target in the Goal tab using buttons, chips, or slider.
  2. Home view shows today count, malas, lifetime total, and goal progress.
  3. History calendar in settings helps verify consistency over time.
  4. Streak is based on days with non-zero counts in continuous sequence.

4) Offline and cloud sync behavior

  1. Counting works offline and is saved locally on your device.
  2. When network returns, sync resumes and pending updates are pushed.
  3. If local and cloud values differ on the same day, the app resolves or asks for merge where needed.
  4. Custom mantra add/delete operations are queued and synced after reconnect.

Tip: keep cloud sync enabled if you use multiple devices and want one continuous history.

5) Troubleshooting quick checks

  1. Wrong day count after midnight: close/open app once and confirm device date/time are correct.
  2. Sync looks stale: check internet, then open settings and wait a few seconds for last-sync update.
  3. No push reminders: confirm notification permission in browser/system settings.
  4. Need fresh start: use Reset Data in settings.
